Difficult Times Don’t Stay Forever

Life is full of surprises and uncertainty. It’s just like a game. Every moment we live is a moment of hope. Nobody knows for sure what might happen next. Yet we live hoping things will turn out the way we want them to. But do we know what is best for us? We are not sure until we achieve it.

We get depressed when we don’t get what we want; when we don’t get into the college or profession of our choice and have to choose an alternative path. It may not be how we want it but in the long run it turns out to be just fine. We always want things to come easily to us. We don’t expect things to go wrong and when it does we feel depressed. Everybody wants to achieve something in life. All we have to do is work for it but never be adamant that it should happen exactly the way we expect it. We should work with an open mind, that way if something goes wrong we would have the opportunity to look at the situation with a different perspective.

In my childhood days I dreamed of becoming a doctor when I grow up. The whole idea of wearing that stethoscope around my neck and examining patients always fascinated me. Besides it was my dad’s dream. But I did not get any financial aid so I could not get into the medical school. I was totally devastated. I felt like I let my dad down. It was too hard for me to take. I kept wondering why I couldn’t get in. I couldn’t help blaming myself for it. My world seemed so dark and cold that I couldn’t see all the other great opportunities around me.

Then one day my dad took me to one of his friends’ place. He was a very successful business man. We talked for hours. At first I was very reluctant to tell him how I felt. But he was so friendly that I soon found myself opening up. He then told me that when he was young he did not do that well in school and had tough time to get into any college. He said he remembered how terrible those days were. He would wake up in the mornings not knowing what to do or what might happen to him if he did not get into any college. He will have no future, he thought. Then he chose this path that was least chosen by any of his friends at the time. Though he had his doubts in the beginning he wasn’t sure until now that it was the best thing that happened to him. Now he has a reputed job and a wonderful family. I then realized why my dad had taken me to meet him. What might seem to be the biggest problem once might appear to be very small in course of time.

Difficult times will pass and when it does you will enjoy and appreciate life even more .I realized how things that I ever thought was important didn’t matter anymore. We come across many things in life that we cannot help and yet we go on and never know what is waiting for us in the future.

The road to success is never easy. It’s just like a little kid learning to walk. You will fall many times before you finally succeed. Life brings in ups and downs all the time. Obstacles come when they are least expected in our life. Things are not going to be the same tomorrow. Everything is going to get better. You will not know what you are missing out until you try your other options. Every small problem may seem to be huge and irreparable but all you need is good judgments.

Some people have financial issues; others have health problems, and many more other obstacles that come in their way of success. It’s just that what might seem to be one’s major problem might not be so to another. It’s how you look at it that makes all the difference. Worrying is not going to make the problem any lighter. You have to pull yourself together and look at all the choices.

Some problems may leave you with no choice like the death of your close ones. It’s the hardest thing to deal with. To wake up every day just to realize they are not there in this world anymore. They are gone forever to a place where there is no coming back. But there is nothing one can do about it. The pain that you have in your heart will be gone soon too. It’s going to hurt every time you think about it, but we have to deal with it and slowly time will heal all the pain. Just don’t give up faith. Your dear one would definitely want to see you successful and happy, not sad or depressed. In situations like this the least you can do is pray for their soul, make their memories live by doing something for a good cause rather than being depressed. We have to learn to let go and move forward.

This might be one of those things that are more easily said than done. I remember the time when my grandmother passed away and my uncle was in deep shock for months. He had four little children and his wife had no job. It was the toughest time in their life. But she always believed things will be okay and encouraged children to continue with studies and she took up a few jobs and worked all day long to make ends meet. And after a few months of treatment and care he turned out to be just fine and things were back to normal.

The thought of those days horrifies them even today, but they are glad they did not give up faith in God and continued to work hard to achieve what they have today. She had those most haunting days of her life back then but today when she looks at those happy faces she is really proud of herself for not giving up on her husband and children. She is glad those days have passed.

Life is not one smooth ride. We all have to go through obstacles at one point or the other in our life. Basically obstacles are a part of life, it’s been there all the while in every walk of your life, and we just don’t see it always. God has a plan for everybody. In times of adversity, pray for the strength to live through it.

You have to struggle to achieve something in life. The freedom of your nation was not achieved in a day. Many countries like India had to overcome many obstacles before they saw the dawn of freedom. There were many castes and religious issues they had to first resolve before they could even bring people together to fight for freedom.
Some problems are the result of one’s wrong choice at one point. But then we have to deal with it wisely now and think about the future and work to make things fine again. There are so many challenges in our daily life .people have to live above these influences to achieve something. Sometimes one indulges in drugs smoking or caffeine without even realizing how slowly one slips into a dreaded addiction. But people do come out of it with sheer determination and dedicated effort. You can always try and make the best out of that second chance and success will be just around the corner.

I have seen many people who strive hard to make the ends meet being happier than those rich people who live in those mansions. Money can’t buy us happiness always but at the same time the lack of it could make it look like there is no tomorrow. Sometimes people don’t make the smartest financial decisions and may have to deal with tough choices in life that they wouldn’t want to make otherwise. Some people just give up, some fight back. And those who fight back make through it.

You can turn your obstacle into your strength. All you have to do is change your outlook. Today might seem dark and difficult but tomorrow will bring sun shine again in your life and all the problems that seemed to tear you apart will soon become a memory. Try to stay positive. Just remember this time will pass.
